If you want free, quality entertainment in Houston you can find it at the Miller Outdoor Theatre. They do live outdoor performances 2 to 3 times a week throughout the spring, summer, and fall months. No matter what your preference is I bet you can find it. You can pick up tickets for seating or show up any time and sit on the grass which is what we did.
The view from the grass was pretty good and the weather was perfect.
The night we visited there was a group from Sri Lanka that performed for us. There were dancers, drummers, and even some singing. My mother-in-law is in love with the Sri Lankan music and drums so she insisted we go and it was a lot of fun. Rather than try and describe the music here is a video.
This was a great free way for us to have an opportunity to experience another culture.
